I often hear this phrase, and it is one of the most reassurance one.

Well, this is a slightly odd way of putting this saying. Let me think of a more usual way of saying what you are trying to say here.
"We are not given burdens that exceed our strength to carry them" might be one way. There is a common saying about this but I am not remembering it at the moment; will let you know if it comes back to me.
