The first good thing

I took out finger tapes on my violin today!!
My teacher put the tapes at the first lesson to show the right place for my fingers to put on, but she said at the last lesson that I can remove them now because the tapes had no longer showed the correct place for the correct sound, and my ears are more correct than the tapes now. But I hesitated to remove. Even I often had to put fingers little higher than the tapes, I still relied on them. I wasn't sure whether I can make the right tones without any mark especially after spending three weeks without practicing. (The practice rooms at the Conservatory were closed during the Christmas break.) So I couldn't remove.
But then today, when I started practicing at the Conservatory (they started working), I felt somewhat annoying for the tapes. So I took them out. Then played one song. I felt... I felt much freer than before. I was able to play right tons without the tapes, and move fingers more smoothly. I was surprised and delighted.
This was the first really good thing in this new year.
