Fright

Today(10:25 am, June 30), I entered Vancouver!
But today (about noon, June 30) I left Okinawa.
It's weird, don't you think?
I rode on a plane at 11:45 in Okinawa, and left to Haneda. Then I took a airport limousine to go to Narita. At Narita, I once rode on a plane at 5:40 pm and the plane took off Japan at 6:28 pm.
Then, after 8 hours and an half an hour, the plane landed on Canada on the same day and even before the time I first rode on the plane!
It is interesting.

Digital-thing

Today, I went the last shopping in Okinawa.
Tomorrow, I leave here and go back to Victoria.
The thing I bought is USB-memory for saving digital photos, one pack of photo paper for printer, and two batteries for digital camera.
... I keenly feel that I am one of the person in the computer generation.

The Numerical Ability

I've been taking Math for years and still now I'm studying it, but Math is one of the least favorite subject for me.
I just can't calculate rapidly and always couldn't solve all of the questions on the test within the test hours. I always wished my numerical ability to be more speedy and precise.
But, I'm sure that this is also the matter of practice.

Possible

What's impossible is the thing that we decided to be impossible.
If there is a thing that seems impossible, think about the longer period.
If you think you can't complete the thing within 3 months, then take 6 months.
If you think you can't complete it within 6 months, then take 1 year.
If you think you can't complete it within 1 year, then take it 2 years.
If you forget that thing before you complete, then it is not so important thing for you.
Can you think in this way?
If you can, then you don't have anything that is impossible.

World Heritage

Every country has its own sacred places.
Today, I saw a TV series about World Heritage. I really like this program. Today's world heritage was Taizan in China. The program introduce this heritage beautifully, and after that I really wanted to visit this heritage.
When I know how the people of the country admire the heritages, I also feel some aura of grandeur for that heritage.
Then, I no longer have the difficulty to admire the people themselves.

May Be

I may buy a violin in here.
I hadn't expected this situation in here, so still, I have some uneasiness, but this may be a good chance. Sometimes, we suddenly receive a present - a present from God, I guess.
But... I haven't bought yet, so it's still too early to say this is a present.

Emotion

It's so important to be able to protect my mind from my egoistic feelings.
Emotion is often very egoistic and we have to learn how to come to terms with it.

Endurance For Noise

Here is much noisier than Canada; it's as if Japanese likes noise.
So now, I'm training myself to be more patient for noise.

An Lightning Storm

Right now (11:00 pm), outside is a lightning storm; the rain is just like "heavy rain as if a bucket of water were turned over."
Yesterday, we had the strong rain all the day too.
I wonder how the roads looks now. Some of them must be look like little rivers.
I hope not so many people got wet by this heavy rain.

Unshakable Mind

Every country has the time when the people see their prosperity and the time when they see poverty.
A country is made up by humans, so it has the same kind of characteristics of humans.
Almost every countries have the brightest time and the darkest time.
The important thing is that we shouldn't be caught by both the darkness and the brightness of the history. When our eyes are dazzled by the glorious prosperity, we often become conceited, and when our eyes are covered by the pitiful poverty, we often become subservient.
So, we always have to have unshakable minds.

The Weather

These days, Okinawa has much rain and sometimes thunderstorm.
The weather is changing so rapidly, and I always carry a folding umbrella. This time is called "Thu-yu," a rainy season. But it's not always rain. Today's was mostly sunny.
But, from the weather forecast, tomorrow may be rain and thunderstorm. So I'm going to stay home and read books.

Laugh Every Day

I love comics.
Laughing is a strong hope to live in this world. So, if you have some difficulty, you should laugh the thing. If you could laugh, you will find some energy to overcome the difficulty.
Laugh every day! Then the world becomes brighter than before.

A Mirror

There is a saying, "The mind of a person who stands in front of you is the mirror of your mind."
Recently I really feel how real the saying is. If my mind is always peaceful, then my world is also peaceful.
First, I refine myself.

Other People

To One's Remotest Descendants

Kindness always come back to the person oneself or if the one is dead, to the one's kin.
My grandma (my mom's mother) died more than five years ago. She didn't teach how to make miso paste from soybeans. May be her children were too busy for other things... I don' know.
But she thought it to a neighboring woman. My grandma did good to her when the woman was buried and thought her how to make miso paste. Then the woman keeps making miso for over 30 years, and now one of my aunts are going to learn. The woman said to the aunt "Your mother treated me nicely and thought me how to make miso paste. So now I want to teach this technique to you - her daughter."
One's kindness flows continuously to posterity. The shape might be changed, but the spirit is the same.
I'm sure that my grandma were treated nicely from other person.

For Children

Many people know Hayao Miyazaki, a famous Japanese animation movie director.
One of the most famous movie of his is "My Neighbor Totoro." I also love this movie too. I don't know why, but today I remembered the theme song of this movie and the melody keeps running in my head.
He creates movies with his love for children, and so many people love his movie.
The things that created for children are the purest things in this world.

A Nice Shopping

Today, I went to an outlet mall called, "Okinawa Outlet mall Ashibina." and bought shoes.
It's brown walking shoes with original place about 80 dollars. But I saved about 43%!
It was a really nice shopping. And now, I don't have to wear my old shoes from 8 years ago.

Relaxing Rail

Today, I rode a monorail that was completed after I left Japan 4 years ago.
The name of the monorail is "Yui rail" which means "relaxing rail." We, Okinawans, often said "You guys are too lazy." from the other part of Japan. But you know, it's really important to relax for once in a while.

The World's biggest Aquarium

Today, I went to Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium where the world's biggest aquarium is (it said).
There was really a huge acrylic window which is about 10m high, and we can see many whale sharks (about 2m long), manta rays, and many other fish.
I've never seen actual whale sharks or mantas, so I was deeply impressed by both the huge window and those fish. The whale sharks are really big and manta rays are so graceful (Some of them even had the leopard-print pattern on their back).
We look them for more than half an hour by sitting in a restaurant just beside the aquarium. The restaurant's waffle was delicious too.

It was really an amazing aquarium.

I'll buy its DVD someday.

Flight

I finally came back home yesterday night.
And, of course, I was so tired after the long journey.
This time, it took whole day to go back from Victoria, Canada to Okinawa, Japan, because I went though Narita and Haneda.
Because there is no direct flight from Canada to Okinawa, I allways have to go through at least one major airport. Then, I prefer Kansai International Airport to use, so that the route would be Vancouver - Kansai - Okinawa. But this time, I because I used Narita and Haneda, the route became Vancouver - Narita - Haneda - Okinawa. Narita and Haneda is not close together, so all the of the passengers who have to go Hanada after reaching Narita have to take a bus to go there. Fortunately there is a regular limousine bus service between them, but it still very tiring.

But, there is one more reason why I felt so tired.
I was very tired after reached Narita, because I watch two movies and didn't sleep at all during the international flight. There is a small TV for each seat even in the economic class (but not all of the sections, it said.) and you can check the current flight situation, play games with the controler beside your seat, watch movies from about 20 movies on the list. It's gorgeous, don't you think?
I was really surprised for the improvement of the services and watched two movies, "Spanglish" and "Phantom of the Opera."
They were really interesting.
